Had an issue with my furnace, not running correctly and I thought it was short cycling so I called Bear Creek after having another HVAC contractor looked at it. Charge me $150 and didn't really fix the problem. The owner Kevin showed up and was able to identify the issue had a short-term fix until we could get it fixed. Kevin was very knowledgeable and a nice guy and didn't even me for the short term solution. I would strongly recommend him!
Where can I start? Kevin is extremely responsive and knowledgeable. Prices are also reasonable for the quality of work performed. I had an emergency leak in my basement today (had a flight to catch in a couple of hours) and denver water was taking too long to shut the water off in the house. Kevin took time out of his day off to stop by my house and temporarily fix the leak so I could make my flight later that day! The professionalism is unmatched! I will be using Kevin and his team on all sorts of projects going forward. Can’t recommend highly enough!
Kevin and his team came into my old moutain home and helped me install a new tankless water heater and a new furnace. They ran into all sorts of unknowns at the house, my well line started leaking into basement and it was just the tip of the iceberg. Kevin stayed numerous days helping me fight problems that were not even part of his installation. He is one who you can say will have your back through thick n thin! He sticks to what he says, where most people would try to stick it to you for unseen work.. His instalation was very thorough and he made sure I was happy before he left. l sure appreciate you helping me fight the fight with courage and leadership. Thank you Kevin and Team A+++

What We Do

Mini split systems that help Lakewood homeowners control temperature room by room without ductwork

Covering wall-mounted indoor units, outdoor compressor installation, refrigerant line routing, electrical connections, and wireless controller setup for single-zone or multi-zone configurations.

  • Multi-Zone Mini Split Installation

Multiple indoor units with independent wireless controllers for each zone

  • Single-Zone Mini Split Installation

One indoor unit for targeted heating and cooling in a specific room

Why Us

Refrigerant lines routed through 3-inch wall penetrations instead of full duct runs

Most ductwork installations cost thousands and require ceiling or wall demolition — mini splits avoid that disruption entirely while delivering zoned control.

Common Challenges

  • Uneven temperatures room to room

Central systems heat or cool the whole house when you only need comfort in specific areas

  • High bills from running whole house

Paying to condition unused bedrooms and spaces drives up monthly utility costs

  • No ductwork in addition or remodel

New rooms lack existing ducts and adding them means tearing into ceilings and walls

How We Help

  • Control temperature in each zone

Wireless controllers let you set different temperatures for bedrooms, offices, and living areas independently

  • 3-inch wall penetration per zone

Refrigerant lines run through small holes instead of bulky ductwork requiring demolition

  • Up to 30% lower cooling costs

Cooling only occupied rooms instead of the entire house reduces summer utility bills significantly

  • Heating down to -15°F outdoor temp

Modern mini splits extract heat from cold air using inverter-driven compressors that adjust output continuously

Whether you're finishing a basement, adding a room, or need zoned control in specific areas, mini splits deliver heating and cooling where you need it.

  • Homeowners With Room Additions

New sunrooms, home offices, or converted garages needing heating and cooling without extending existing ductwork

  • Homeowners Finishing Basements

Below-grade spaces requiring independent temperature control separate from upstairs zones

  • Homeowners Wanting Zoned Control

Families with different temperature preferences room by room seeking individual wireless controllers

How We Work

How Mini Split Installation Works

  1. Site Assessment & Sizing

Technician measures room dimensions and heat load to determine BTU capacity and number of zones needed for your space

  2. Installation & Line Routing

Wall-mounted indoor units installed with refrigerant lines routed through 3-inch penetrations to outdoor compressor

  3. Testing & Controller Setup

Performance testing verifies heating and cooling capacity for each zone with wireless controllers programmed for independent control

About This Service

Mini Split Heat Pumps in Lakewood

Mini split heat pumps provide ductless, room-by-room heating and cooling for Lakewood and Denver metro homes. They suit additions, basements, garage conversions, and homeowners who need zoned temperature control without new ductwork.

Wall-mounted indoor heads connect to an outdoor compressor with insulated refrigerant lines and a dedicated circuit; installers size each zone using room-by-room heat-load calculations and respect refrigerant line length limits. High-elevation air in the Lakewood foothills requires correct refrigerant charge and systems rated for cold-climate operation to around -15°F, plus secure outdoor unit mounting on rocky ground.

Properly sized and performance-tested mini splits deliver precise zone control and reduced system runtime compared with running whole-house equipment. Expect visible indoor heads and greater multi-zone wiring complexity; post-installation performance testing verifies heating capacity and prevents unexpected electric bills.

FAQ

Common questions about mini split heat pumps

Clear answers about ductless systems, sizing, costs, and performance in Lakewood.

Rooms without heating or cooling remain unusable during temperature extremes. Portable heaters and window AC units cost $150-300 monthly to run inefficiently while providing poor comfort. A properly sized mini split delivers year-round comfort at lower operating cost than temporary solutions.
Wall-mounted indoor units are visible in each room, which some homeowners find less attractive than hidden ductwork. Multi-zone systems require electrical capacity for the outdoor compressor. However, mini splits avoid ductwork installation costs and deliver precise zoned control that central systems cannot match.
Most 2000 square foot homes need 2-4 zones depending on layout and insulation. Open floor plans may need fewer zones, while homes with many separate rooms need more. A technician measures heat load room by room to determine exact BTU capacity and zone count for your specific layout.
Yes. Modern mini splits extract heat from outdoor air down to -15°F using inverter-driven compressors. They deliver consistent warmth without the dry air forced-air furnaces produce. Operating cost is typically 30-40% lower than electric baseboard or resistance heat.
High bills usually indicate oversized units running short cycles, refrigerant undercharge reducing efficiency, or units left running in unoccupied rooms. A technician checks refrigerant charge, verifies BTU sizing matches room load, and programs controllers for occupied-only operation to reduce waste.
Single-zone systems typically cost $3,000-5,000 installed. Multi-zone systems range $5,000-12,000 depending on number of zones and BTU capacity. Cost includes indoor units, outdoor compressor, refrigerant line routing, electrical connections, and performance testing. Request a quote for your specific layout and zone count.
Single-zone installations take 4-6 hours. Multi-zone systems take 1-2 days depending on number of zones and refrigerant line routing complexity. Installation includes wall penetrations, indoor unit mounting, outdoor compressor placement, electrical connections, and performance testing for each zone.
Yes. Mini splits are ductless systems. Refrigerant lines connect wall-mounted indoor units to an outdoor compressor through 3-inch wall penetrations. This eliminates ductwork installation costs and the 20-30% energy loss typical in ducted systems. Each indoor unit delivers heating and cooling directly to its zone.

We have known Kevin Camblin for a decade. First of all, he is fully licensed and insured. I not only hired him to install furnace in my rental, last year we hired him to install new AC in our new home. The home builder had the copper lines preinstalled (refrigerant). When Kevin finished the AC install, he found and repaired the copper line the BUILDER accidentally punctured with a nail. (this leak was in basement ceiling). Outstanding workmanship on Kevin’s part and we went with an upgrade on our new AC - reason was it is more efficient and super quiet. Give this company a call. High integrity and competitive price. AVOID THE BIG CHAINS because the others have high overhead!
I have had terrible luck with furnaces in my homes. Not only has Bear Creek Heating & Air replace one furnace but two. My first home and then my second when I moved into a townhouse. In true emergency it was the dead of winter and woke up to a home that was less than 50 degrees. Their team worked efficiently to see was available and do it for a fair and reasonable cost. I would highly recommend this company! I've had my furnace now for a couple years and zero problems!
